Description
From our extensive collection of Antique Maps, Prints and Photos of Guam and Micronesia; from the Folio Collection of prints from the Frycinet voyage by Arago. This archival reproduction of the original 1819 print in our collection. Pictured is what is most likely the House of Taga on Tinian, an unusually unusually tall group of ancient Latte Stone pillars, that is still standing today. Latte stones began to be used in about 800 A.D. This print is from the collection of drawings of Jacques Arago, the artist aboard the Freycinet voyage. Plate 74 in the folio collection. (NOTE: Since this is high resolution reproduction of the original antique print from 1819, there are some small natural areas of coloration in the print, which are typical of a 200 year old print.) When matted and framed this is an exquisite print for home or office.
