From our extensive collection of Antique Maps, Prints and Photos of Guam and Micronesia; from the Folio Collection of prints from the Frycinet voyage afer the artist Pellion. This archival reproduction of the original 1819 print in our collection. Beautiful hand-colored rendering of the original hand-colored print showing a distillery scene on Guam in Umatic. They are collecting Tuba, the sap of the coconut palm which is then fermented and further distilled making a rum-like liquor called Aguardiente. This print is from the collection of drawings of Pellion one of the artists aboard the Freycinet voyage. Plate 68 in the folio collection. (NOTE: Since this is high resolution reproduction of the original antique print from 1819, there are some small natural areas of coloration in the print, which are typical of a 200 year old print. ) This was Emily Johnstons favorite print.
